Description
History
Domaine Ragot, located in Givry in the Côte Chalonnaise, is a small estate dedicated to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; modernized since the 2000s under Nicolas Ragot, emphasizing soil respect, hand harvest, and careful vinification. The “Champ Pourot” plot is about 1.77 hectares (vines ~45 years old) on clay-limestone soils, facing north-east at around 230 m altitude, which contributes freshness and tension to the wine.

Tasting notes
Pale golden yellow. On the nose, aromas of yellow fruit (apricot, peach), citrus peel, hazelnut, toasted notes and a subtle smoky nuance; on the palate fresh with good acidity, noticeable minerality, medium‑full body, nice tension and a long slightly smoky finish.
Food pairing
Pairs well with richer seafood, shellfish, noble poultry, semi‑firm cheeses, creamy sauces or dishes with lightly smoked elements; also excellent as a contemplative wine on its own. Serve at 10‑12 °C.
