Description
History
Duemani is a renowned Tuscan winery specializing in elegant wines produced according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture. Located in Riparbella, near the Tuscan coast, the winery cultivates international vines such as Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot in clayey soils with pebbles. Fermentation and aging take place in terracotta amphorae, cement vats and French oak barrels. The resulting wines are enveloping, expressive and perfectly represent the personality of the Tuscan coast. The “Duemani” (Cabernet Franc) and the “Suisassi” (Syrah) are the flagships of the cellar.

Production method
The soil in which the vines are grown is characterized by an important presence of limestone skeleton, with a clayey and saline composition. The harvest takes place by the end of September. The grapes are selected directly in the vineyard and harvested manually in small 15 kg boxes. After a delicate destemming to obtain intact berries, the grapes are further selected by hand on a sorting table. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in conical oak vats at a controlled temperature, followed by maceration on the skins for about 30 days with short pumping over. The refinement begins in December 2019 and the wine remains in 225/228 liter French oak barriques for 22 months, with the use of 80% new wood and 20% first passage.
The wine is not subjected to clarification or filtration, thus preserving its integrity and authenticity.
