Description
History
The Castagnoli estate has been a pioneer in the Chianti Classico area in the total adoption of the organic method. Since 1965, the vineyards have been cultivated according to rigorous ecological principles. Immersed in an uncontaminated natural environment, surrounded by our 73-hectare woods, the land and vineyards are preserved. On the ancient terraces, supported by the typical Tuscan dry stone walls, there are 11 hectares of vineyards. Situated at an altitude between 300 and 420 meters above sea level, our vineyards are influenced by a variety of microclimates which enhance the uniqueness and versatility of the Sangiovese grape variety. Thanks to over fifty years of organic management, the land of Castagnoli maintains its vitality and presents itself as a lively ecosystem that hosts a rich biodiversity.
