Description
History
Capannelle was born in 1974 thanks to the vision of Raffaele Rossetti who decided to move to an old farmhouse in Gaiole in Chianti surrounded by about 10.5 hectares of vineyard land. After careful evaluations, another 3.5 hectares of vineyards were planted with typical Chianti grapes such as Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia; at the same time we proceed with the renovation of the farmhouse and the frescoes present in the structure, in order to give new life and splendor to the estate. The first label was born in 1975 as a simple table wine from Tuscan grapes, it will be the first milestone of a path of continuous qualitative growth, which will then lead, about 10 years later, to the production of wines also with some international vines, including we mention the Chardonnay aged in barriques and some collaborations with other Tuscan realities of great importance such as Avignonesi di Montepulciano for the production of 50&50.

Production method
After the vinification of the Sangiovese grapes in temperature-controlled steel vats, the resulting wine is transferred to conical Slavonian oak vats, with a capacity of 13-30 hl, for a maturation of at least 12 months.

Tasting notes
It has a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose aroma of ripe red fruit such as cherry, blackberry and small red fruits, floral aromas of violets and spices. In the mouth it is balanced, decisive, fine, with good tannins, persistent finish.
Possible combinations
Excellent in combination with game, roasts and structured red meats and aged cheeses; wine with great capacity for prolonged aging over the years.
