The winery is owned by the Fronti family, whose origins are peasants. In 1959 Bruno Fronti created an agricultural service business from scratch, which he then made to grow successfully thanks to the collaboration with his sons Fabio and Stefano. Working in the wine sector for many years, in 1982 the first land was purchased to plant the vineyards. The company is 20 hectares mainly in the municipality of Radda in Chianti and also in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti. The family’s goal is to optimize what nature offers and the viticultural peculiarities of the highest areas of the Chianti region. They are certified organic since the 2016 harvest.
The harvest is manual and the grapes immediately after this procedure arrive in the cellar and ferment for 15 to 20 days at a controlled temperature, carrying out a maceration which can last from 3 to 8 weeks. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in steel and cement tanks and then aged for 12 months in large Slavonian barrels and partially also in cement.
Ruby red colour. Notes of wild berries and cherries, spices and balsamic hints on the nose. Pleasant on the palate, with good freshness, drinkable with good presence of tannins.
The best pairings are with red meats, meat sauces, cured meats and cold cuts.
