Description
History
Langhe Chardonnay DOC “Bujet” 2019 Franco Conterno 75 cl is a rosé wine produced by the Franco Conterno farm. The Cascina Sciulun where the Conterno Franco winery is located is an ancient farm typical of the Piedmontese Langa architectural tradition. The farm is located in a hamlet of Bussia di Monforte d’Alba. The building was built in the mid-eighteenth century and expanded around the 1940s, and has always belonged to the Conterno family. Franco’s grandfather, Pietro, began to allocate the 18 hectares of land to the production of Nebbiolo, initially to be sold to other wineries in the area. The company has passed generationally first to Pietro’s son, Giacomo, and subsequently to Franco, who has been running the company together with his wife Vilma since 1995 and has given today’s approach to quality production. Today we also see the inclusion of the two new recruits, the sons of Franco Daniele and Andrea, who have brought a desire to do things and a breath of fresh air. The company produces with organic certification.
Grapes used
100% Chardonnay
Production method
The vineyards are located on land adjacent to the estate, rich in clay and sand, capable of giving structure and complexity to the final product. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and pressed and the must obtained undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers. The wine then ages in steel tanks for 4 months before being placed on the market. The company has chosen for this product the screw cap (also known as Stelvin cap) able to better safeguard the aroma and freshness of the wine until uncorking.

Tasting notes
At sight it has an intense and bright straw yellow color. On the nose notes of peach, citrus, chamomile flowers, hay and hints of hazelnut. In the mouth full, round, soft and closed by a nice final acidity. Overall fragrant and clean, very well done.
Possible combinations
Franco Conterno Chardonnay is perfect as an aperitif on a warm spring/summer evening. It is perfect for pairing with fresh and creamy cheeses, or with delicate fish dishes or with seafood first courses.
