Description
History
After a brilliant career in the financial world, in 1985 Alain Thiénot founded his own champagne house in Taissy, not far from the city of Reims. He started by buying some vineyards in Aÿ and Mesnil-sur-Oger; in just a few years both he and his family have managed to bring the quality of the products created to very high levels, arriving today to own about 27 hectares located in various territories. Today it is the sons Stanislas and Garance who manage the maison following all the teachings received from their father. The latter have in turn been able to establish themselves on a par with many other historically more established and long-lived maisons, creating very balanced and clean cuvées, objectively impeccable.
Grapes used

Pinot noir (Ay, Rilly, Hautvillers) 40%
Production method
It is produced according to the so-called methode champenoise or classic method, a method in which the wine substantially undergoes two different fermentations: the first, the alcoholic one (which it shares with the rest of the wines) takes place in vats for fermentation; the second instead takes place directly in the bottle and ensures that during this second procedure, thanks to particular yeasts, the wine also develops carbon dioxide (which will then give life to the famous bubbles when uncorked). The product ages for at least 120 months on its lees, depending on the vintage.
Alcohol content

Tasting notes
Light and bright gold color, with very fine perlage. Balanced and elegant nose: notes of citrus and ripe grapefruit, brioche, pastries and yeasts, minerality of chalk. On the palate the wine is broad and full-bodied, with a very fine bubble that caresses the walls of the palate, with a balanced freshness on the finish.
Possible combinations
Alain Thiénot is the champagne of great drinkers and connoisseurs: the very high quality and attention to the modernity of taste make it an exclusive product. Highly recommended for meditation.
