History
The Potrero winery is one of the oldest and most important in Argentina. Founded in 1890, the winery is located in the Mendoza region, known for its excellent wine production. The company was founded by Don Leoncio Arizu, a visionary entrepreneur who invested in the Mendoza region when it was still underdeveloped. The winery grew rapidly, becoming one of the leading wine producers in the country. In 1904, the company began exporting its wine to Europe and the United States, gaining international prestige. Over the years, the company has continued to innovate, adopting new technologies and production techniques to improve the quality of the wine. In 2001, Potrero was acquired by the Catenazzi family, who have continued to carry on the company’s tradition of excellence and innovation. Today, Potrero is one of Argentina’s most respected wineries, known for its production of high-quality wines, including the celebrated Malbec. The winery is open to the public for tours and tastings, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the history and culture of wine in Argentina.

Fermentation in French oak barrels for at least 12 months, followed by further refinement in the bottle.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red colour. Notes of berries, accompanied by spicy and herbaceous notes, black pepper, chocolate and tobacco. The taste is dry and tannic, with good acidity which gives the wine freshness and balance.
Possible combinations
It goes perfectly with red meat dishes, roasts, aged cheeses and cured meats.
