Agostina Pieri has her estate in the southern part of the municipality of Montalcino, between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell’Abate. Its approximately 10 hectares of vineyards are mainly dedicated to Sangiovese. Thanks to the warm but windy climate with significant temperature variations, its wines are well matured and retain a good aromatic complexity.
Sangiovese Grosso 100%
The Brunello in question is produced only with grapes from the oldest vines and the production is limited. After fermentation, the Sangiovese is placed in Slavonian oak barrels for about a year, before being transferred to French oak barrels, where it ages for another 14 months.
On the palate, robust tannins and an imposing and enveloping structure stand out. The aromatic bouquet on the nose is very intense and characterized by fruity notes that recall the cultivated land and freshly baked bread.
This wine goes perfectly with traditional dishes of the area and with high quality meats.
