Description
History
The story of Giodo in Montalcino began in 2002, when Carlo Ferrini identified, after many years of research, a first plot of land to buy in the prized Brunello region. Positioned between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Sant’Antimo, the company currently covers 6 hectares of vineyards and is an ideal place for the cultivation of vines, thanks to its exposure, altitude and diversity of soils. An imposing avenue of cypress trees welcomes the visitor to this magical place. The rows of Sangiovese vines destined for the production of Brunello di Montalcino and IGT Toscana offer spectacular views of the rolling hills surrounding Montalcino, up to the majestic mass of Monte Amiata. To further enrich the suggestive landscape, there is an olive grove dedicated to the production of Tuscan IGP oil.

Production method
The winemaking process begins with the alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel containers, using only native yeasts. Subsequently, we proceed with a delicate short-term maceration, avoiding excessive pumping over to preserve the elegance of the wine. The refinement takes place in 500 liter oak barrels for about 24 months.

Tasting notes
Its color shows an intense ruby red. The nose perceives notes of red fruit such as strawberry and cherry, accompanied by ripe black fruits such as blackberry and dried blueberries. Floral aromas of violet and rose also emerge, with a subtle hint of spice, among which chocolate and licorice stand out. On the palate, it is slightly tannic, dry, warm and robust, with a long-lasting finish. This Brunello from the Giodo winery stands out for its modern, rich and powerful style, but at the same time it has great roundness and consistency.
Possible combinations
It goes well with red meat dishes, game and aged cheeses. Excellent with truffles and traditional Tuscan dishes. Try it with dark chocolate desserts for a truly unconventional combination.
