Description
History
Inside the Ornellaia estate in Bolgheri there is a particular, almost “magical” vineyard. Unused for a long time, its potential was intuited around the 1980s, when the first vines were planted, in spite of forecasts and statistics. This vineyard of only 6 hectares has today revealed some of its secrets, giving life to one of the most famous wines in the world; a key element is the proximity to the sea, which reflects the sunlight causing a unique ripening of the grapes and influencing the product with the maritime winds and the mitigation of the climate; moreover, the subsoil is of very ancient blue clay precisely by virtue of the fact that in the past it was a seabed.

Tasting notes
The wine is an intense ruby red colour. Notes of Russian fruit, such as blueberry, raspberry, cherry and flowers such as violet, spiced tertiary notes also emerge. In the mouth it is full-bodied, pleasant, structured but at the same time very balanced with light tannins.
Possible combinations
It goes perfectly with red meat, wild boar and aged cheeses.
