Description
History
The Scarzello winery is located in the heart of the Piedmont wine region, precisely in Barolo, in the province of Cuneo. Founded in 1945 by Francesco Scarzello, the company began the production of wine with the harvest of the grapes from the family’s vineyards.
In the 1980s, Francesco’s children, Federico and Emanuela, joined the company and brought new impetus to wine production, introducing new techniques and modernizing the company. Today, the third generation of the Scarzello family runs the company and produces some of the best wines in Piedmont.

Alcoholic fermentation in steel, aging is 18 months in large oak barrels.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red color tending towards garnet. The nose perceives notes of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, dried flowers and a slight hint of tobacco. On the palate, the wine presents itself with a full body and a well-balanced tannic structure. The fruity flavor goes perfectly with the spicy notes and there is a slight liquorice aftertaste.
Possible combinations
It can be combined with savory first courses seasoned with ragù or wild boar ragù, roasted and grilled red meat, red meat and medium-aged cheeses.
