Description
History
Michele Chiarlo started the company in 1956 in Calamandrana, in the heart of Asti, debuting with his first Barolo in 1958. Over the following years, the winery, strictly managed by the family, significantly expanded its presence thanks to important acquisitions of land in the best areas of the Langhe, obtaining lands in Cerequio and Cannubi in 1987 and 1989. Currently, the company extends over approximately 110 hectares of vineyards.

Production method
Fermentation takes place in large oak vats for a period of 15 days, maintaining a temperature between 27 and 30 degrees. Subsequently, it is left to mature in oak barrels for two years, followed by a further 15-16 months in glass containers.

Tasting notes
Ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose hints of cherries, blackberries, licorice, mint, tar and tobacco. In the mouth, it manifests itself with elegance and opulence thanks to dense but soft tannins and well-balanced acidity. Its finish is incredibly long and persistent.
Possible combinations
It can be combined with tasty first courses seasoned with ragù or wild boar ragù, roasts and grilled red meat, red meat and medium-aged cheeses.
