Bruno Giacosa, just fifteen, abandoned his studies and began working alongside his father Mario, in the cellar founded by his grandfather Carlo in 1900. In 1982, the Falletto vineyard in Serralunga was purchased, which would begin the production of the prestigious Barolo Falletto; in 1996 he will buy the Asili and Rabajà crus, by now very well known as they give life to unforgettable Barolo and Barbaresco. Bruno Giacosa’s wines always prove to be sublime and incomparable, known throughout the world and hailed by experts and critics as among the best expressions of the Langhe.
Aged in large oak barrels for 30 months.
The color is ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose is rich and intense, notes of small red, purple and pink fruits are perceived with a rather balsamic finish. On the palate it is rich and elegant, the tannins are silky and enveloping with an excellent persistence.
In combination it is appreciable on dishes based on stewed red meat or roasted meat. It is also very well suited for meditation, perhaps combined with a piece of dark chocolate.
