Description
History
For many years, Terlan has represented the maximum expression of refinement and durability in Alto Adige. Founded in 1893 in its namesake locality, not far from Merano, the Terlano winery is one of the most innovative producer cooperatives not only in Alto Adige but throughout Italy. The 143 members cultivate a total of 165 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production that exceeds one million bottles. These numbers are reflected in the quality of their white and red wines, which are loved by both the public and critics.

Production method
The grapes are delicately pressed in the form of whole bunches and subsequently subjected to a light natural decantation to remove sediments. Fermentation proceeds slowly inside large wooden barrels, with rigorous temperature control. Malolactic fermentation is carried out exclusively for Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay grapes. The final phase of refinement lasts 12 months and takes place in large wooden barrels.

Tasting notes
Straw yellow colour. The scent is expressive, intense and refined, offering a variety of fragrances, including spices, fruit (apricot, melon and peach), aromatic herbs (mint and sage), smoke, citrus and honey. In the mouth, consistency with the aromas detected on the nose is confirmed, with a sip characterized by a notable minerality, almost saline, a creamy consistency and full body, culminating in an extremely prolonged finish.
Possible combinations
Ideal as an aperitif, this wine goes well with asparagus salads and traditional dishes such as pizza, tomato pasta, rosemary focaccia or penne all’arrabbiata.
