Description
History
Tenuta La Nascosta is a winery located at the foot of the medieval village of Castiglione d’Orcia, in the heart of Val d’Orcia, Tuscany. Founded by the Mastrojanni family, already known for their experience in Montalcino, the estate stands out for producing wines that combine native and international grapes, maintaining a strong connection to the territory.
Grapes used
- 100% Sangiovese
Production method
- Harvest: Manual selection of grapes between late September and October, with temperatures below 20°C.
- Vinification: Low-temperature maceration with special yeasts, followed by fermentation with traditional yeasts. Techniques used: pump-overs, delestage, and punch-downs.
- Aging: 24 months in 500-liter French and Austrian oak tonneaux, followed by 12 months in bottle at controlled temperature and humidity, in the absence of light.
Alcohol content
- 14% vol.
Tasting notes
- Color: Intense ruby red, deep and impenetrable.
- Aroma: Notes of well-ripened fruit alternating with spicy and tertiary touches.
- Taste: Austere, powerful, and elegant sip, with a pleasant persistent finish.

Perfect with Florentine steak, hearty first courses, and red meat dishes.
