The story of Berlucchi is also the story of Franciacorta. In 1955 Franco Ziliani, a young winemaker at the time, proposed to Guido Berlucchi to produce a sparkling wine in the French way in his homeland, Franciacorta. They succeeded in ’61 with the first three bottles of “Pinot della Franciacorta”; Franciacorta was born in all respects! In 1962, the following year, the first Italian rosé classic method was also created. Guido Berlucchi passed away in 2000, and the company remained under the guidance of Franco Ziliani and Berlucchi’s 3 children Cristina, Arturo and Paolo.
