Description
History
The Monte dei Ragni company originates on the land owned by the Ragno family, taking its name from the hill on which it is located. One of the main protagonists of the company was Santo Ragno, who since the early 1900s understood the importance of grapes for the region and increasingly oriented agricultural activity towards this crop. During the first half of the last century, the company expanded with the acquisition of land in the Mazzurega area, slightly to the north, where vineyards, cherry trees and olive trees were immediately planted. The cultivation of vines and the production of wine, which best expresses the characteristics of this foothill terroir, have very ancient roots here.
Production method
After the harvest, the bunches are dried in the open air on racks for 25-30 days, before being delicately pressed. The must ferments spontaneously in oak barrels thanks to indigenous yeasts, and the refermentation takes place on the Amarone pomace. The wine is then aged in oak tonneau for 30 months, until it reaches maturity before bottling.
