Description
History
Vallepicciola is located in Pievasciata, within the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, one of the most prestigious areas of Chianti Classico. Revitalized by the Bolfo family, the estate encompasses extensive vineyards planted between 380 and 440 metres above sea level on soils rich in galestro, alberese, clay and limestone. Today it is regarded as one of the most dynamic wineries in the appellation.

Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with approximately ten days of skin maceration. Malolactic fermentation occurs in large used French oak casks. The wine then ages in large oak barrels for around 10–12 months before additional bottle ageing prior to release.

Bright ruby red in colour. The bouquet reveals ripe cherry, black cherry, violet and red berry aromas, complemented by delicate spicy nuances. On the palate it is balanced and harmonious, with soft velvety tannins, lively freshness and a persistent finish marked by fruit and floral notes.
Food pairings
Excellent with wild boar ragù pasta, Florentine steak, roasted meats, grilled dishes, Tuscan cured meats and aged cheeses. Its balance and elegance also make it a fine companion to many traditional Tuscan recipes.
