Description
History
Franchetto Winery, located in Terrossa di Roncà, Verona, is managed by Antonio and Giulia Franchetto. With a family tradition in viticulture, the winery is dedicated to cultivating native grape varieties, enhancing the volcanic terroir of the Val d’Alpone to produce high-quality wines.
Grapes used
- 100% Garganega
Production method
- Harvest: 70% at the end of September, 30% at the end of October, hand-picked.
- Vinification: Destemming and crushing of the grapes, soft pressing, fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
- Aging: 12 months on fine lees in stainless steel, followed by an additional 12 months of bottle aging.
Alcohol content
- 13% vol.
Tasting notes
- Color: Bright straw yellow with golden highlights.
- Aroma: Dynamic balance between the sweetness of tropical fruit and an engaging mineral vein.
- Taste: Significant body and structure, supported by freshness and sapidity, with excellent persistence and elegant pleasantness.
Possible pairings
Excellent with first courses such as risotto and baked pasta with vegetables, main courses of white meats and not overly elaborate red meats, spicy cured meats like sopressa veneta, and semi-aged cheeses such as Monte Veronese DOP mezzano.
