Description
History
Serre Nuove was conceived as the second wine of Ornellaia, produced with the same grapes and philosophy as the flagship wine but with a more accessible and refined profile. Ornellaia, located in Bolgheri along the Tuscan coast, is a global benchmark for Italian Bordeaux-style reds. The 2023 vintage delivers harmony and finesse thanks to careful parcel selection and precision winemaking.
Grape variety
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot
Vinification
Grapes are harvested and vinified separately in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by careful maceration to achieve balance and structure. Ageing takes place in oak barriques, partly new and partly previously used, allowing tannins and aromas to integrate smoothly, followed by final blending and bottle ageing.
Alcohol content

Tasting notes
Bright, intense ruby red. Aromas of ripe red and black fruits such as cherry, blackberry and currant, with spicy notes, subtle oak and Mediterranean herbal nuances. On the palate it is balanced and enveloping, with silky tannins, good freshness and an elegant structure leading to a long, harmonious finish.
Food pairings
Perfect with grilled red meats, roasts, braised dishes, mushroom-based recipes, light game and aged cheeses. Also excellent on its own as a refined tasting wine.
