Description
History
Weingut Abraham is a winery located in Appiano, South Tyrol, known for producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. The Sauvignon Fumé comes from a single vineyard situated at about 450 meters above sea level, characterized by morainic soils rich in minerals such as quartz porphyry, granite, gneiss, and mica schist. These conditions impart the wine’s distinctive character.

- 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Production method
- Harvest: Manual harvesting from vines aged 10-20 years, trained in Guyot system on primary rock soils rich in minerals, at 450 meters above sea level, facing southeast.
- Vinification: After a cold maceration of about 24 hours, the must ferments in 500-liter oak barrels with natural yeasts. About 20% of the mass ferments on the skins for 4 weeks.
- Aging: The wine matures on fine lees for 16 months, developing complexity and depth.

- 14% vol.
Tasting notes
- Color: Intense straw yellow with golden highlights.
- Aroma: Notes of citrus and tropical fruit enriched by a deep smoky aroma, with mineral nuances of graphite and flint.
- Taste: Smooth, full-bodied, and long-lasting on the palate, with vibrant acidity and a savory, mineral finish.
Possible pairings
It pairs perfectly with light meat and fish dishes. To fully develop its potential, it is recommended to aerate the wine and serve it in a Burgundy glass.
