Description
History
Ricci Curbastro is a historic estate in Franciacorta, renowned for high-quality traditional-method sparkling wines. Satèn is a unique Franciacorta style produced only from white base wines with slightly lower pressure than usual, typically with a strong Chardonnay presence. Ricci Curbastro’s interpretation combines tradition, terroir respect and careful winemaking to craft an elegant and distinctive Satèn.
Grape variety
Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, with a minimal amount of Pinot Nero used only for structure (still a white wine)
Vinification
Traditional method with secondary fermentation in bottle. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, extended lees ageing to develop complexity and finesse, and a carefully calibrated dosage in Satèn style to preserve roundness, softness and aromatic purity. Bottle ageing prior to release ensures full integration.
Alcohol content
Approx. 12.5%
Tasting notes
Bright straw yellow with very fine, softer bubbles compared to a classic Brut. Aromas of white-fleshed fruit, white flowers and subtle bread crust. On the palate: soft and elegant, balanced acidity, silky mousse and a clean, savoury, harmonious finish.
Food pairings
Wonderful as an elegant aperitif; pairs beautifully with seafood starters, shellfish, delicate fish dishes, light risottos, sushi and sashimi, refined vegetarian plates and fresh cheeses. Also excellent with light Asian cuisine and seafood preparations.
