Description
History
Montevertine is one of Tuscany’s most respected estates, founded by Sergio Manetti in 1967. From the start, Montevertine has produced wines that balance tradition and personal vision in the heart of Radda in Chianti. The estate eventually left the Chianti Classico denomination to fully practice its production philosophy, using historic vineyards, low yields, and concrete vinifications for high quality. The 2022 vintage proved well‑balanced, retaining freshness and elegance despite warm climatic conditions.

Tasting notes
Compact, luminous ruby red color. On the nose are dark red fruits like cherry and plum, dried violet, gentle spices (clove, anise), sweet tobacco, rhubarb, and a balsamic hint. On the palate, it offers elegant entry, balanced acidity, well‑set yet refined tannins, full body, and a long finish with echoes of ripe fruit and spices.
Food pairing
Pairs splendidly with roasted red meats, game, mushroom dishes, lamb shoulder, rich braised meats or high‑quality aged cheeses. Serve at about 17‑18 °C, possibly with a slight decant to allow the wine to open up.
