Description
History
Monte dei Ragni is a small independent winery in Fumane (Valpolicella Classica), renowned for its terroir-driven approach and limited production. The 2018 vintage maintains the estate’s emphasis on vineyard excellence, very low yields and strong connection to the hillside terraces and soils.
Grape variety
Typical Amarone blend: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella (and possibly other native varietals).
Vinification
Grapes are carefully selected and partially dried according to the Amarone protocol, fermented with precision, then aged extensively in wood before release. The result is a concentrated, complex, structured wine.
Alcohol content
Approximately 16.5% vol.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with garnet highlights. On the nose: ripe red fruit, cherry in brandy, plum, sweet spices (vanilla, cocoa), refined tobacco. On the palate: full-bodied, structured tannins yet integrated, well-balanced acidity giving lift, very long and savoury finish.
Food pairings
Perfect with roasted red meats, game, braised dishes, mushroom or truffle dishes, aged cheeses. Also ideal as a contemplative wine with high-quality dark chocolate.
