Description
History
Vinos de Potrero was founded at the foot of the Tupungato volcano in Mendoza, one of the world’s most renowned regions for Malbec production. The vineyards lie at more than 1,350 metres above sea level on predominantly limestone soils, giving the wines freshness, tension and mineral character. The winery follows a modern yet terroir-focused philosophy aimed at highlighting the identity of Argentine Malbec.

Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo cold maceration for around five days before alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks and concrete eggs. Extraction techniques are adapted according to the vintage to preserve balance and elegance. The wine is then aged for approximately 12 months in first- and second-pass oak barrels, developing aromatic depth and complexity.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with garnet reflections. Aromas of ripe dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry and plum combine with violet, sweet spice, cocoa, vanilla and toasted nuances. On the palate: full-bodied, warm and enveloping with firm yet integrated tannins, vibrant acidity and a long savoury finish echoing fruit and spice.
Food pairings
Pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, braised dishes, game, gourmet burgers, smoky barbecue dishes and aged cheeses. Also excellent with South American spicy cuisine or rich mushroom and meat risottos.
