Description
History
Founded in 1665 in Salice Salentino, Leone De Castris is one of the historic symbols of Apulian winemaking. With the Elo Veni line, the winery aims to showcase Negroamaro through a contemporary interpretation while maintaining a strong connection to the Salento terroir and local wine tradition. The result is a fresh, convivial and terroir-driven expression of southern Italy.

Tasting notes
Bright ruby red. Aromas of cherry, ripe red berries, fresh pepper and clove emerge alongside subtle spicy and balsamic nuances. On the palate it is smooth, juicy and pleasantly fresh with delicate tannins, lively acidity and a harmonious fruity finish.
Food pairings
Pairs beautifully with rustic starters, ragù pasta, white meats, mixed grilled dishes, flavourful grilled fish, charcuterie and medium-aged cheeses. Also excellent served slightly cool during warmer months or alongside convivial Mediterranean cuisine.
