Description
History
Cantina Girlan, located in Alto Adige’s Oltradige area, produces Vernatsch from vineyards at about 400-500 m altitude on morainic hills with volcanic porphyry soils. The vines have an average age over 30 years. The 2024 vintage follows a traditional vinification path and includes 6 months ageing in large oak vats, resulting in a harmonious wine.

Vinification
Hand-harvested grapes in small containers, destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and about 6 months ageing in large wooden barrels.

12.5% vol.
Tasting notes
Bright ruby red. On the nose: raspberry, cherry, subtle florals and light spice. On the palate: smooth, lively with soft tannins, fresh acidity and a harmonious finish. Refreshing and inviting, showing a nice balance of fruit and structure.
Food pairings
Pairs well with South Tyrolean dishes like canederli, pasta with alpine sauce, white meats, regional salumi, semi-aged cheeses. Also great for a casual glass.
