Description
History
Walter Massa is widely regarded as one of the leading modern interpreters of Timorasso, an indigenous Piedmontese variety that has been revived through his work. The name Derthona refers to the ancient Roman name for Tortona and signifies white wines with strong territorial identity. The winery focuses on attentive vineyard care, controlled yields and cellar practices designed to preserve varietal integrity and natural minerality.

Timorasso 100%
Vinification
Hand-harvested Timorasso grapes are fermented with temperature control in stainless steel. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts is followed by ageing on fine lees for several months to build structure and complexity without intrusive new oak. The wine rests in bottle prior to release to harmonise aromas and flavours.

Tasting notes
Pale golden yellow. Aromas of ripe white fruit, candied citrus, fresh almond, aromatic herbs and deep minerality. On the palate: full and vibrant with balanced acidity, enveloping structure, marked sapidity and a long, harmonious finish that evolves in the glass.
Food pairings
Pairs beautifully with structured fish dishes, shellfish, carpaccio, fried seafood, complex risottos, white meats and spiced fare. Also excellent as a contemplative wine on its own, especially alongside refined dishes with aromatic herbs.
