History
Cigliano di Sopra is located in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, in the northern part of the Chianti Classico appellation. The estate covers approximately 32 hectares, including 8 hectares of vineyards, and has a history dating back centuries. Today it is managed by a young and dynamic team committed to combining tradition with modern winemaking techniques.

Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified separately according to vineyard parcels. A small percentage of whole clusters is retained to enhance complexity and freshness. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages for approximately 14 months in barriques and tonneaux, followed by a short period in stainless steel before bottling. It is bottled unfiltered to preserve purity and character.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red in colour. The nose reveals aromas of cherry, black cherry, pomegranate and red berries alongside hints of spice, tobacco, forest floor and subtle earthy nuances. On the palate it is vibrant and balanced, with finely integrated tannins, lively freshness and a long finish marked by red fruit and delicate spice.
Food pairings
Excellent with Florentine steak, rosemary-seasoned beef, roasts, light game dishes, Tuscan ragù pasta, traditional peposo stew, cured meats and aged cheeses. Its freshness also makes it particularly versatile with classic Tuscan cuisine.
