Description
History
Domaine Chandon de Briailles is a storied Burgundy estate tied to the de Nicolay family, which practices organic and biodynamic viticulture. The “Aux Fournaux” cru was partly planted in 1956 and has become an emblematic vineyard for the domaine. Since 2018, part of the Premier Cru production is blended into a village‑level wine under the “Savigny Fournaux” label. For 2022 the wine undergoes 18 months of aging in wood, with a low proportion of new barrels.

Tasting notes
Medium ruby red. On the nose: fresh cherry, strawberry, violet, delicate floral tones, and a subtle mineral thread. On the palate: well balanced, vibrant acidity, fine tannins, medium body, and an elegant persistent finish with fruity echoes and a light spice nuance.
Food pairing
Pairs beautifully with roasted duck, game, rabbit, mushroom dishes, lighter red meats, and semi-aged cheeses. Serve at 16‑18 °C, and allow some breathing for better aromatic development.
