Description
History
From Casanova di Neri in northeast Montalcino, the 4 ha Cerretalto amphitheater sits over mineral-rich soils. First released in 1981, it is made only in top vintages. Spontaneous fermentation with 32-day maceration, followed by 36 months in French oak barrels and at least 24 months in bottle.

Spontaneous fermentation in submerged-cap vats (32 days), malolactic in steel, 36 months aging in French oak barrriques, and 24 months bottle aging before release.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, graphite, tobacco, spices, with echoes of chocolate. Full-bodied and structured on the palate, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, savory, powerful finish.
