Description
History
Bruna Grimaldi is a historic winery in Serralunga d’Alba revered for its respectful and terroir-focused interpretations of Nebbiolo. The Camilla cuvée is named after its vineyard and captures the distinctive character of the limestone-marl soils in this area. The 2021 vintage delivered ripe yet balanced wines with vibrant acidity and strong ageing potential.
Grape variety
Nebbiolo 100%
Vinification
Hand-harvested grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled vats. Extended maceration extracts colour, structure and the complex aromatics typical of Nebbiolo. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in large oak casks for an extended period, followed by further bottle ageing to harmonise its components.
Alcohol content
Approx. 14.5%
Tasting notes
Bright garnet red. Aromas of ripe red fruit, cherry, dried plum, rose, sweet spices, liquorice and subtle earthy notes. On the palate: full and structured with silky, present tannins, lively acidity and a long, persistent finish with fruit and spice echoes.
Food pairings
Pairs beautifully with roasted red meats, braised dishes, game, mushroom and truffle dishes, tajarin with ragù and aged cheeses. Also excellent as a contemplative wine with complex plates.
