Description
History
Domaine Leflaive is a symbol of absolute excellence in Burgundy and has a history of three centuries. Founded in 1717 in Puligny-Montrachet by Claude Leflaive, the current management is led by Brice de La Morandière, Joseph’s great-grandson. The winery, officially founded in the 20th century by Joseph Leflaive, boasts an extraordinary reputation for the quality of its wines. In addition to the vineyards in Côte de Beaune, they also farm in the Mâconnais, in southern Burgundy. Brice de La Morandière took the helm in 2015, succeeding Anne-Claude Leflaive, known as “Madame Leflaive” and a pioneer of biodynamics, who has sadly passed away today.

Production method
Obtained from manually harvested grapes carefully selected based on ripeness. After delicate pressing, the bunches decant for over 24 hours. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, with 12% new, using a combination of Vosges and Allier oak. The wine is aged in oak barrels for at least 12 months, followed by 6 months in steel before bottling. The use of homeopathic clarifications and light filtration, if necessary, complete the process.
