Description
History
The Grattamacco winery and farm is located an hour’s drive from ColleMassari Castle. The structure is located in the beating heart of the Bolgheri DOC denomination between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri in a raised position at 100-150 m, which enjoys a panoramic view of the Tuscan coast. The vineyards are naturally protected by Mediterranean scrub and caressed by sea breezes which deposit mineral substances on the soil and prevent the formation of mold harmful to the fruit. This particular terroir combined with the great knowledge in the wine sector make Grattamacco an established brand worldwide.

Production method
The grapes are harvested when they reach optimal polyphenolic ripeness at different times depending on the variety. They are subsequently destemmed and softly pressed and the must is placed in stainless steel vats for alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins. The refinement is carried out in French oak barriques, including second or third passages, for 8 months, with further refinement in the bottle.

Tasting notes
Dark garnet red color with brilliant nuances. On the nose, an elegant bouquet of black fruit such as blackberries, blackcurrants, violets, Mediterranean scrub, herbaceous and balsamic sensations with evolution of rosemary, black pepper and cocoa. Fruity, elegant and soft in the mouth, counterbalanced by a more biting character on the finish thanks to lively tannins and acidity.
Possible combinations
Grattamacco Bolgheri is perfect as a pairing with first courses with tomato and meat sauce, on platters of tasty cheeses and Tuscan cold cuts, and with red meats in general. Excellent wine also to be consumed by the glass for fans of the genre.
