History
Located in the territory of the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, the company structure has origins that date back to 1698. In that year, the ancient estate was given to the Tringali-Casanuova family by Guido Alberto della Gherardesca, with the name of “Casa al Piano ” “, by virtue of the merits accumulated by the family in Castagneto Carducci.

Production method
As for the winemaking process, the grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation in the same tanks. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 12 months in third and fourth passage French oak barriques, followed by a further 12 months of refinement in the bottle.

Tasting note
Intense ruby red color with garnet shades at the edges of the glass, this wine expresses on the nose a bouquet of ripe red fruit such as cherries, blueberries and blackcurrants, accompanied by notes of dried violets and a mineral note. In the mouth, the wine is soft, generous and caloric, with a solid and well-defined structure; it is characterized by a mineral finish, lively but refined tannins and a fresh final acidity that makes the finish intriguing.
Possible combinations
It pairs perfectly with first courses based on meat or game sauce or with second courses always based on meat and game. Ideal with a selection of mature and tasty cheeses.
