Description
History
Under the guidance of Brice Omont, Domaine des Ardoisières has become one of Savoie’s most acclaimed estates. The grapes for Argile come from the steep west-facing slopes of Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy, where black schist, clay and marl soils create ideal conditions for producing wines of remarkable purity and mineral character. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically to preserve the identity of this exceptional Alpine terroir.
Grape variety
40% Jacquère, 40% Chardonnay, 20% Mondeuse Blanche.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified as whole clusters. Fermentation occurs naturally with indigenous yeasts, followed by approximately 9 months of ageing in tanks to preserve freshness, purity and mineral expression. The wine undergoes only light filtration before bottling.
Alcohol content
11.5%.
Tasting notes
Bright straw yellow with green highlights. The bouquet offers aromas of white flowers, citrus, green apple, pear and white peach, enhanced by flinty mineral notes. The palate is vibrant, crystalline and saline, combining lively acidity with impressive precision and a long finish marked by citrus zest and stony minerality.
Food pairings
Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with grilled fish, shellfish, oysters, sushi, seafood tartare, mountain cheeses such as Reblochon and Tomme de Savoie, delicate pasta dishes and refined vegetarian cuisine.
