The Roagna family has a long history in Barbaresco, which began with Vincenzo and Rosa producing wine before 1870. Their grandparents Giovanni and Maria Candida purchased Cascina Pajè in 1953, leading to the production of Barbaresco Crichet Pajè in 1978. In 1989, Alfredo and Luigina added Cascina Pira, starting the production of Barolo. Since 2001, Luca Roagna has led the winery and collaborated with Tommaso Canale for the Barolo Vigna Rionda between 2003 and 2006.

The Roagna estate covers 20 hectares, with 15 vineyards, located in Paglieri, Barbaresco. The main vineyards include Asili, Pajè, Montefico and Carso. In Castiglione Falletto there is the Pira vineyard, the largest with 7 hectares of vines.

The Roagna winery uses indigenous yeasts, long macerations and maturation in oak barrels, with minimal use of sulfur dioxide. The Barbaresco crus and the Pira di Barolo cru are vinified separately, maintaining tradition and quality.
